Theatre Under the Stars – Principal Resident Company
Theatre Under The Stars, also known as TUTS, is a local Houston nonprofit musical theater company. TUTS is dedicated to enriching life through the experience of quality musical theater and positively impacting the community beyond the stage through innovative education and outreach projects.
Since 1968, TUTS has been a Houston treasure. Not only does TUTS bring incredible Broadway-quality theater to the main stage at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, each summer TUTS produces a full-scale musical at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park that is free to the public and attend by tens of thousands of people.
To this day, TUTS remains the only organization to have performed free to the public every single summer since the foundation of Miller Outdoor Theatre. TUTS is also home to two renowned theatre schools, the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre which is known nationally for musical theatre education, and a second school, The River which provides arts education to students with disabilities and their siblings. Indo-American Association
A Houston Cultural Treasure, is a 31-year non-profit organization for the promotion of cultural arts of India
The mission of the Indo-American Association is to bridge cultural divides by showcasing the rich heritage of the Indian subcontinent through multi-disciplinary performing arts, as well as cultural, educational and artistic expressions. IAA presents a thoughtfully curated season of up to 10 live shows each year, in addition to participating in several community outreach initiatives. Each season’s line-up has included a blend of the art disciplines of India – music, dance, and theater. With its innovative collaborations and educational programming, Musiqa strives to make modern repertoire accessible and vital to audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds. Each season, Musiqa programs a diverse series of public performances introducing Houston audiences to dynamic and challenging music by contemporary composers, making it one of the most active contemporary music ensembles in the United States. Since its founding, Musiqa has presented more than 200 performances — including more than 30 world premieres — and performed the music of over180 modern composers. Our concerts are unique artistic experiences that highlight fresh, modern music by renowned local and national composers paired with another contemporary art form, such as literature, film, theatre, art or dance.

NMD’s mission is to make work that is emotionally daring and honest; inspires discourse and understanding amongst diverse communities; and focuses on innovative collaborations in the arts and sciences with an emphasis on emerging technologies. By following this mission, NMD has become an integral and respected part of the Texas dance community.
NMD has been named Houston’s Best Dance Company by the Houston Press three times over, 2015, 2016, & 2019. Most notably, NMD was featured on the Emmy Award winning ABC TV show American Crime. NMD collaborated with Academy Award winner John Ridley to develop a four-minute contemporary dance work that was shown in its entirety on primetime TV and drew an audience viewership of 4 million. Other achievements include its inclusion on the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster and graduation from the Houston Arts Alliance three-year Resident Incubator Program. The company received a Mid-America Arts Alliance Innovations Grant in 2017 for its collaboration with industrial designers. Texas Medical Center Orchestra
Founded in 2000, TMCO is one of the few community orchestras in the United States to be based in the medical community
Each year, TMCO performs concerts in the Crain Garden Lobby of Houston Methodist Hospital and various locations within the Texas Medical Center as well as in premier concert halls in Houston. A primer young artists chamber orchestra
Virtuosi of Houston is dedicated to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of talented young musicians in performing symphonic music and to become valued contributors to their communities.
Its goal is the education and development of young talented musicians into true professionals, who would be sought after by the premier Conservatories and who would pursue a musical career as performers, educators, and advocates of classical music. Virtuosi provides the opportunity for every talented youth in the Houston area, regardless of race, religion, or income to receive the best education in the field of classical music so that they are competitive in their objective to be music professionals.
