The Hobby Center’s President & CEO Mark Folkes, CFRE was recently recognized as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Greater Houston Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The award was presented on Friday, November 11 at the chapter’s annual National Philanthropy Day celebration, which has grown to be one of the largest in the country and the premier celebration of philanthropy and recognition of community volunteers in the Greater Houston area.
In recognizing Mark, the organization highlighted his spearheading of numerous high-impact initiatives for the arts in Houston, including a $35.8 million capital campaign to build a transformative new three-theater campus at Stages and helping the Houston Symphony raise $16 million annually in support of operations, sustainability and endowment. Now as President and CEO of The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Mark provides strategic leadership for the organization, one of Houston’s largest nonprofit performing arts institutions.
We are wishing congratulations to Mark on behalf of the Hobby Center Foundation’s entire staff and board on this enormous award and well deserved honor!
