The annual Houston Theater Week is back for a repeat performance with even more exclusive deals! Houston First Corporation is excited to again spearhead the city’s largest collaboration between local theater and performing arts groups to bring unprecedented access to some of the best ticket prices of the year to consumers. For one week only, August 14-20, 2023, new and established music and theater enthusiasts can take advantage of Buy One, Get One FREE ticket opportunities. The deal covers more than 200 performances of exciting and diverse live shows.
“Houston Theater Week not only provides the public with great bargains, it also supports everyone involved in producing these exceptional live programs from the performing artists to behind-the-scenes professionals,” said David Mincberg, Chair, Houston First Corporation.
In 2022, Theater Week’s inaugural year, 17,500 combined tickets were sold by 20 participating organizations which resulted in nearly $600,000 in combined ticket sales. This year’s initiative features a wider variety of shows, including world premieres, critically acclaimed plays, intimate concerts, innovative new performances and holiday classics with some ticket prices starting as low as ten bucks.
“The opportunity to break down barriers to access and provide opportunities for our community to attend live performances strengthens the arts community in Houston by opening doors to new audiences and engaging our longtime supporters. We are excited to join forces with Houston First to showcase some exceptional programming through a campaign that makes it easy for everyone to find all the offers in one place. We want Theater Week to become a tradition for friends and families to experience the performing arts at a great price,” said Hillary Hart, Chair, Theater District Houston Association.
“We know Houston consumers and performing arts groups are looking forward to a repeat of Theater Week’s outstanding performance last year. This collective effort with resident companies and community theaters across Houston brings a variety of great shows at great prices that we are certain will strengthen the city’s performing arts community for generations to come,” said Michael Heckman, president & CEO, Houston First Corporation.
