Show Description

Presented by Texas Medical Center Orchestra

Embark on a captivating journey into the enchanting world of the Texas Medical Center Orchestra (TMCO) for their third concert of the 2023-2024 season. This musical odyssey will awaken your senses and transport you to extraordinary realms.

The voyage begins with Claude Debussy’s “Fêtes,” a radiant composition from his Nocturnes. Debussy’s ethereal sounds and vibrant imagery will immerse you in a captivating tapestry of musical colors, inviting you to explore uncharted horizons. As the music unfolds, a dreamscape emerges, where the familiar meets the unfamiliar, offering a unique and otherworldly experience.

Prepare to be spellbound as the orchestra showcases the exceptional talents of mezzo-soprano Audrey Welsh. A native of Houston, Audrey brings her exquisite voice to Hector Berlioz’s “Les Nuits d’été.” This promises to be a highlight of the evening, with Audrey guiding audiences through Berlioz’s lush melodies and poetic storytelling, expanding our musical horizons.

To conclude this mesmerizing evening, TMCO proudly presents the evocative “Symphony in C# Minor” by the talented composer Charlotte Sohy. Her work epitomizes our theme of “New Horizons,” inviting you to experience innovative soundscapes and expressive harmonies. The symphony will transport you to unexplored territories, where music becomes a vessel for limitless imagination and creativity.

This concert promises to be an unforgettable journey, revealing new dimensions of musical exploration and leaving you with a sense of wonder and inspiration. Join TMCO for an enchanting evening of musical discovery, where melodies, rhythms, and emotions carry you to uncharted realms of artistry.
