Show Description
Presented by Virtuosi of Houston
Now celebrating it’s 28th season, Virtuosi of Houston (a non-profit arts organization) is the premier youth chamber orchestra in the Houston metropolitan area. Virtuosi’s student musicians (ages 11 to 18) are selected by audition. With a membership of only 45-55 musicians, the educational focus of Virtuosi of Houston allows for a thorough and unique exploration of the chamber orchestra repertoire. With this smaller compliment of exceptionally gifted young musicians, Virtuosi provides increased development in the areas of musicianship, leadership, confidence, responsibility and personal skills, with individual attention from it’s two world-class conductors – Andrzej Grabiec, concert violinist (formerly Professor of Violin at the University of Houston Moores School of Music) and Franz Anton Krager, Director of Orchestras and Music Director & Chief Conductor of the Texas Music Festival also with the University of Houston. Maestros Grabiec and Krager are the Founding Artistic Directors & Conductors for the Virtuosi of Houston.
