About the Artist
Bebel Gilberto is a Grammy-nominated Brazilian singer-songwriter and one of the world’s leading voices in contemporary bossa nova. She broke through internationally with her 2000 album Tanto Tempo, one of the best-selling Brazilian records of its era, helping revive global interest in the genre while launching a career that has sold more than 2.5 million albums worldwide. She followed with acclaimed releases including Bebel Gilberto, Momento, All in One, Tudo, Agora, and João, a heartfelt tribute to her father and bossa nova pioneer, João Gilberto.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Gilberto has performed at major concert halls and festivals around the world, collaborating with renowned producers and musicians while seamlessly blending traditional Brazilian sounds with jazz, electronic, and pop influences. Her music has been featured in films including Closer, Eat Pray Love, and Rio, as well as television series such as Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, and Nip/Tuck. She also contributed to the charitable compilation Red Hot+Rio 2 and earned a Latin Grammy nomination for her song “Tudo,” further cementing her reputation as one of Brazil’s most celebrated musical ambassadors.
