Poppy, Branch and all their Troll friends take over the Hobby Center, December 28-30

Get ready for another hair-raising adventure when Poppy, Branch and all their Trolls friends come to life on stage in Trolls LIVE!, their first ever live tour! Jam-packed with epic music, glitter, humor and happiness, Trolls LIVE! will visit Sarofim Hall at the Hobby Center, December 28-30 for six Trolls-tastic performances. The world of the Trolls comes alive in this totally interactive, story-rich musical celebration of everything the Trolls love – singing, dancing, rainbows, glitter and plenty of hugs. THE HOBBY CENTER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES HILARIOUS MUSICAL SPOOF “SPAMILTON: AN AMERICAN PARODY”

Playing Zilkha Hall May 28-June 9

The Hobby Center Foundation will present the Texas premiere of the North American tour of the hit musical comedy Spamilton: An American Parody at the Hobby Center’s Zilkha Hall, from May 28 to June 9. Tickets are on sale now.

Created by Gerard Alessandrini, the comic mastermind behind the long-running hit Forbidden Broadway and performed by a versatile cast of seven, Spamilton: An American Parodyy is a side-splitting new musical parody. Mischer Neurosciences Broadway at the Hobby Center announced the lineup of shows for its 2019-2020 Season today. With nine productions including one season option, the season includes a mixture of Blockbuster Tony Award®-winners, acclaimed revivals, four market premieres and beloved all-time favorites.

CURRENT PARKING INFORMATION

Please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your performance. Parking is available in the Hobby Center garage with entrances on Rusk and Walker Streets, along with valet service on Bagby Street. Valet and Hobby Center garage parking is subject to space and availability. Large attendance at various performances, coupled with other downtown activities, will create high demand, limiting access and there is a high probability of valet and/or self-parking reaching capacity and closing prior to the start time of a performance.

Overflow parking is available in the Theater District Garage beneath Tranquility Park (Entrance #2). Currently, elevators in the Tranquility Garage are not available and the tunnel is scheduled to reopen in September.

For your safety and security, walk thru detectors will be in use and all bags are subject to inspection before entering the theater. Please allow extra time prior to your performance. RENT 20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR ON SALE NOW!

Returns to Houston due to popular demand - August 6-11, 2019

Mischer Neurosciences at the Hobby Center announces that the individual tickets for the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour will go sale at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1; the Broadway musical will play August 6-11, 2019 at the Hobby Center.

In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. TICKETS FOR DISNEY'S ALADDIN ON SALE NOW!

Performances begin June 26 and play through July 14

Disney Theatrical Productions and the Hobby Center announced today that tickets for the long-awaited engagement of Disney’s Aladdin go on sale to the public on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Houston at the Hobby Center on Wednesday, June 26 for a limited three-week engagement through Sunday, July 14.

Ticket buyers are reminded that the Hobby Center/Ticketmaster are the only official retail ticket outlets for all performances at the Hobby Center. Ticket buyers who purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third party should be aware that the Hobby Center is unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets and is unable to contact patrons with information regarding time changes or other pertinent updates regarding the performance.

EDDIE IZZARD: WUNDERBAR - Coming to the Hobby Center on June 14, 2019!

The National Tour of WAITRESS Welcomes RICHARD KLINE to the Role of 'Joe'

Beginning December 14, 2018!

Joe’s Pie Diner will be Opening Up with Richard Kline in the role of ‘Joe’ on December 14th when the tour is in Spokane, WA at First Interstate Center for the Arts. Waitress is the hit Broadway musical from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture.

Richard Kline most recently appeared in the Broadway bound musical The Sting, with Harry Connick, Jr. Millions of TV watchers know him as ‘Larry’ Jack Tripper’s best friend on the classic sitcom “Three’s Company.” Broadway debut: City of Angels; Film debut: Barry Levinson’s Liberty Heights; Television debut: “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” He toured for over a year as The Wizard in Wicked. He has performed his solo show Boychik at New York’s Theatre Four and at many venues throughout the United States.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG prepares to wreak havoc in Houston March 26-31, 2019

Mischer Neurosciences at the Hobby Center is pleased to announce that individual tickets for The Play That Goes Wrong go on sale to the public on Friday, November 2 at 10 am. The Play That Goes Wrong, the hilarious Tony Award-winning hit Broadway comedy, will make its Houston debut at the Hobby Center, March 26-31, 2019.

Co-written by Mischief Theatre company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy about the theatre. The play introduces The ‘Cornley University Drama Society’ who are attempting to put on a 1920s’ murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong…does, as the accident-prone thespians battle on against all odds to get to their final curtain call.

Diana American Grill NOW OPEN at The Hobby Center

A classic Theater District-style restaurant with creative twists takes center stage at city's premier performing arts facility

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is raising the curtain on its show-stopping new signature restaurant – Diana American Grill – a classic Theater District restaurant that draws on the long heritage of the grill rooms found in close proximity to great theaters. Named for Diana Hobby – who impacted the Houston community in countless ways and played an instrumental role in the creation of the performing arts center – the restaurant name serves to honor, acknowledge and extend her legacy of grace and generosity.

Commissioned by the Hobby Center Foundation and operated by Spectrum Concessions & Catering – who tapped celebrity chef Robert Del Grande to create a simple yet elegant menu in keeping with a classic Theater District-style restaurant – Diana aims to subtly heighten the totality of the theater-going experience with time-honored dishes served in a warm atmosphere that promotes a sense of comfort and conviviality.

The entirety of the restaurant space, including the oversized outdoor terrace, is available for receptions up to 250 people and seated dinners up to 180. With its dramatic views of downtown, the vast vaulted lobby of the Hobby Center is also available for events up to 500. Both venues are unique spaces for signature events, from social galas and weddings to corporate events.

Houston, TX – Broadway at the Hobby Center is pleased to announce a three-year sponsorship agreement with Memorial Hermann Mischer Neurosciences beginning with the 2018-2019 season.

“We are excited to be part of the Hobby Center’s distinguished history fostering growth of the performing arts and providing world-class entertainment to the Greater Houston area,” said Dong Kim, M.D., Director of the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and professor and chair of the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. “Each year, Broadway at the Hobby Center brings a lineup of award-winning shows and cast members to Houston representing a broad spectrum of cultures and interests.”
