Bon jour, mes amis! Second Baptist School is thrilled to return to Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center for the thirteenth year presenting The Boy Friend.
The Jazz Age lives on in Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend, a light romantic spoof of the 1920s musical comedy. This clever production, written in the fifties as "a new musical of the twenties," is still considered an essential Golden Age musical. The 1971 film version, starring Twiggy and Tommy Tune, was “brilliant and colorful.”
The happy-go-lucky French Riviera sets the backdrop for this story of an English heiress, Polly Browne, who longs for only one thing: a boyfriend. Filled to the brim with whimsical moments, The Boy Friend has a bright and breezy score that will delight audiences of all ages.
Make plans to attend this trés magnifique musical February 24-26. Visit thehobbycenter.org for ticket information. Merci beaucoup!
